We would like to congratulate a new addition to the FYP Executive Board, Ms. Jo Ann Paanio!
Jo Ann Paanio is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at the National Network for Youth with experiences in federal policy advocacy, human-centered design, education, and direct legal services. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jo Ann has cultivated her career in advocacy, government relations, legislative strategies, and capacity building to increase pathways and opportunities for youth and young adults. Jo Ann’s commitment to improving outcomes for children, youth, and families began with her experiences in JusticeCorps and later spanned across the foster care, juvenile justice, and immigration systems. As a former faculty member of California State University, Dominguez Hills, Jo Ann taught undergraduate courses in U.S. and global politics. Jo Ann has also served as a consultant for the Obama Foundation and Cultural Vistas.
Outside of work, Jo Ann enjoys traveling, photography, yoga, cooking, reading and catching up on her favorite podcasts. You can catch her sipping on a latte and exploring D.C. with her Jack Russell Terrier, Marley.
