Recent Event: Himig Ng Kalayaan
On June 12, 2022, FYP-DC celebrated the Philippines’ 124th Independence Day Anniversary by serving as volunteers to assist TFC in putting together the “Himig Ng Kalayaan” event. Through the collaboration with the Philippine Embassy and TFC, the night was a success and highlighted the essence of Pinoy culture through talented acts such as Martin Nievera, Lani Misalucha, and Broadway Barkada.
At the end of the night, FYP-DC along with the rest of the Filipino community filled DAR Constitution Hall by singing along to the finale medley of “Lupang Hinirang”, the Philippine national anthem. A memorable ending to a full day to celebrate the 124th year of Pinoy Independence from Spain.
